Women, Entrepreneurship and Wisdom
Let's talk women entrepreneurship and wisdom.
Start with this photo, taken a few weeks ago. Natural everything. 100% un-retouched, or filtered or any of that crap. In nature, because that's where I'm at home.
When I worked in a traditional agency, for a national publisher, within PR leadership, and, until very recently in my own firm, this is not what you would have seen.
Women in leadership are supposed do that whole hair, makeup, jewelry, suits and high heels, man! Don't you know? They're not supposed to smile so much, because that means they're too nice, and kindness is often mistaken for weakness.
Been there. Done that. And, I'm not buying what they're selling.
I'll keep smiling, thank you. I'm stronger than you think.
I've been a single mom for 29 years, a public relations pro and writer for more than 20 years, and an entrepreneur for 15 years. I've bootstrapped my business, raised a daughter, helped other beings, served our community, and made a home. I’ve overcome a lot of crap.
There's wisdom behind this smile.
God is good every day.
Children make grownups.
Kindness is strength.
Vulnerability is courage.
Adversity is opportunity.
Honesty is authenticity.
Compassion is consciousness.
Boundaries are respect.
Integrity is ethics.
Entrepreneurship is a choice I make every day. So is showing up. So is smiling.
If you could live you’re most authentic life, what would it look like? (You can and you should do it. The world is waiting for what only you can share in all of its unique and messy and beautiful grandeur.)
