Our 2020 Social Impact Snapshot
How Responded During the COVID-19 Crisis
The year of 2020 was a portrait in crisis and courage. Beyond serving as counsel to leadership and providing immediate support for the communication needs of our clients and their constituents, we sought to contribute to healing, harmony and recovery. Here are a myriad of ways we accomplished that goal.
Immediate and Ongoing Needs Assessment
With the announcement from the federal state governments issuing mandates and providing clear guidelines for closures and minimal operations, we assisted every client partner in assessing needs, developing updated policies and procedures, and creating and issuing detailed communications to both internal and public constituencies based upon known facts and corresponding operational and policy changes.
Communication Resources
Seeing that many organizations may need communication resources during the reopening and restart process, we created a Responsible Restart Communication Guide, and made it available at no cost via our website and through our local SBDC resources page.
Helping Our Clients Weather the Storm
Many of our clients experienced the immediate and significant impact of immediate and long-term restrictions to business operations, so we committed ourselves to fairly evaluating and customizing modified service plans for every client, and helped our clients save more than $11,600.
Donations to Nonprofits and Foundations
My grandmother used to say that many hands make light work. We believed – and still believe – that the small actions of many people working together is far greater than the sum of its parts.
Our company spread donations across 12 nonprofits and foundations throughout the year, as we sought to contribute to positive impact on the ground here in Ohio and beyond.
More than $2,375 was donated, including more than $1,700 to help save bees and their habitat through our Save Ohio Bees™ initiative.
Donations of Services
Since ours was one of the many small businesses significantly impacted by the COVID-19 crisis, we looked at ways we could sustainably donate consulting, communication, public relations and media relations services in addition to monetary donations.
Service donations during 2020 were valued at more than $13,500.
